Tap. Tap. Tap.
Is this thing on?
We’ve been a bit quiet here at North Dakota Quarterly headquarters juggling getting new issues out the door and raising funds to keep the lights on (and to publish more new issues).
Since rumor have circulated concerning our magazine’s demise, it’s probably time to get the blog going again (and to avoid the cliche about news of demise) and update our readers. First, we have continued to submit manuscripts on time to our publishing partners at the University of Nebraska Press. NDQ 92.3/4 went to press October 1, 2025, NDQ 93.1/2 went to press on March 1, 2026, and NDQ 93.3/4 went to press around October 1, 2026. Our friends at UNP, however, are back logged. We have been told that issues will appear in March of 2026, then in August and September. They have not, but this isn’t necessarily alarming. There is a classic comic that shows a harried editor with a calendar that reads “NOW!” and for every other month “Later.” As a sometime publisher, I understand how this can happen and it has taught me patience.
To make up for delays that are beyond our control, we will start to post some things here on the blog over the next few months starting with the table of contents for issue 93.3/4
