The First Series

The earliest volumes of North Dakota Quarterly featured authors mostly associated with the campus at the University of North Dakota, but soon gained a regional readership with articles across a wide range of interests. This series ends in 1933 when the university cut funding to NDQ as it struggled with the fiscal challenges of the Great Depression.
