We’ve had a bit of a backlog and decided to close submissions for a while to catch up. Now, we’re caught up… ish and ready to see what folks have for us!
Go here to submit poetry, essays, or fiction.
There are three things you might want consider before sending something to NDQ.
First, know that we’re not a big operation with a big staff. Our editors are volunteers and we all have teaching responsibilities, our own research and writing, and, in some cases, administrative responsibilities. We all want the best for NDQ and your work, but sometimes other priorities will intervene and introduce complications to our workflow. Please be patient with us!
Second, consider reading a few issues of NDQ before submitting. See what it is that we do. You can find volume 87.1/2 here for free. Or you can hit up University of Nebraska Press, your local library, or Project Muse for a copy. If you want to take a deeper dive, check out this little digital anthology, take a stroll through our various collections in the menu on the left, grab a copy of a book that we’ve published, or check out the archive.
Third, NDQ like most contemporary little magazines relies on their contributors to become subscribers! We recognize that this won’t always be possible, but for those of you who can subscribe, please do! By subscribing you help make NDQ possible for other writers just like you.
