More Whitman

I suppose a lot of people are saying these days that the world (or maybe even the U.S.) is cut through with irreconcilable differences. That may be the case, but following up from our post last week on the discovery of a lost Walt Whitman novel, it seems like a good opportunity to introduce Jennfer Crandall’s performance and video project, Whitman, Alabama.

She captures on video people doing everyday things while they read verses from Walt Whitman’s “Song of Myself.” It is remarkable how a simple project like this can generate so much meaning.
