Welcome to North Dakota Quarterly.

North Dakota Quarterly is a literary and public humanities journal whose roots extend back to the early days of the University of North Dakota. One of the famous “little magazines” that have been the traditional seed beds of talented writers and contributed so much to the nation’s cultural and artistic life.

An international spectrum of writers and artists comes together in NDQ to produce a rich mixture of articles, essays, fiction, and poetry. For over 100 years the Quarterly has stood  as one of the region’s most widely admired ambassadors and as persistent landmark in the global literary landscape.

We are now available on Project Muse. To visit us there and to purchase a digital copy of this issue, go here.

To celebrate the 90th volume of NDQ, we’re proud to make available an innovative digital (and paper!) anthology of 90 volumes of 90 brought together by a new generation of NDQ readers. To download a copy for free or purchase a paper copy, go here.
