This morning one of my favorite commentators on the social media is North Dakota’s Chuck Haga. He is also a longtime friend of North Dakota Quarterly. In fact, one of my simple joys is handing Chuck a copy of NDQ each spring and fall.

This is just a preamble to a simple link to Chuck’s 1988 series of articles for the Minneapolis Star Tribune that retraces Steinbeck’s 1960 track across the country that served as the basis of his book Travels with Charlie.
